Cm102 Produces multicam Music Videos for Musicology StudentsProf. Susan Mazer leads her musicology students through their performance of their original compositions in front of a mobile 3 camera rig helmed by students from Prof. Gregory Golda's CM102 Intro to Multimedia Productions. This is the 2nd year producing these videos and it's a great collaborative project fro all involved.

2018 COLLIDE/Create Music MOVEMENT Media
COLLIDE/CREATE is a colalbortion between 3 areas of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts here at Sacred Heart University and 3 composers. The impetus behind this collaboration was a rejuvenation of a class called Democratic Technologies which was first offered in the year 2000. “I wanted to get back to the experimental roots of the course. And I loved collaborating on big projects across disciplines in my academic career. I like unexpected results!”, said professor Gregory Golda from the Communications school. Golda approached Keith Johnston about adding music to the project and the wheels started turning. Johnston said, “This project was originally conceived using existing music in the repertoire.

Jens Wendelboe is a composer, music arranger and orchestra leader, known from collaborations with artists like Slide Hampton, Phil Woods, Bill Watrous, Monty Alexander, Donna Summer and Blood, Sweat and Tears. He and his band performed at SHU and my class of 15 students split into 3 groups. The live crew shot the entire show with a 3 camera field rig. The next group shot still photos and the third produced the video above.

Prof. Joe Carter
I have been working with distinguished guitar player and Prof. Joe Carter for nearly a decade in recording performances with multitrack and video crews. Recently I captured his collaborative concert with flautist and professor of music Ali Ryerson. After the show they came into the studio to record the podcast below. All media by GJG.
MLK Day Celebration & Reflection: December 11, 2015
This energetic and thoughtful event brought together performers, speakers and students from the region to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.. My students covered the event for WHRTV and produced a 3 camera live recording as well as copious stills. Full Story Here

Pushing Back the Wave - 2006
Most service learning trips are pretty low intensity efforts filled with hard work and good memories. Visiting the devastated Gulf Coast 6 and 9 months after hurricane Katrina was life changing. My students shot for a week and put together these portraits of our visit. |
