Scenes from 25 years at Sacred Heart University
A Brief Overview
In 2019 Gregory J. Golda completed his 2nd master's degree. This one in broadcast journalism, and digital media production from Sacred Heart University. In 1998 he graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a master's degree in Art Education. While initially studying theater design he was assigned as a teaching assistant to Penn States' Integrative Arts department. This media studies program was a perfect match and Golda quickly took up the field of study and was soon teaching his own classes at Penn State. In order to better align his interests in media and arts he transferred into the Art Education program where he studied with noted art educators Brent and Marge Wilson. Golda's master's thesis project was the construction of an on-line learning platform for media studies and he's been designing ever since.
Beginning in 1999 Golda served as the multimedia productions coordinator at Sacred Heart University where he created numerous videos and public relations campaign materials. He also served as the media studio supervisor while designing classes and teaching many innovative courses. His courses are all project based and engage students of all majors in the creation of media texts with multiple digital tools.
In 2006, Prof. Golda was the recipient of SHU's Joseph Grau Action for Justice Award for his work with the SHU delegation to Mississippi to aid the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. He has been a two time finalist for the Marian Calabrese Outstanding Faculty Award. and has won the Advisor of the Year Award three times for his work with the student TV and Radio Stations.
Prof. Golda is also the owner and designer of Construkt Media Studios, a multimedia production company specializing in audio and video production as well a graphic, web and theater design.

The SCMA Student ShowcaseIn 2020 Prof. Golda developed and launched the SCMA Student Showcase website as a way of closing the loop on student learning in The School of Communication, Media, and the Arts. Previously, Golda coordinated the in-person Media Arts eXhibition, known as THE MAX at which students would display their work. Because of the pandemic the event moved online and now resides here.

Lance Bass is the quintessential illustration of a highly successful and driven jack-of-all-trades: singer, host, actor, producer, writer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and cosmonaut. |
Lance Bass at SHU - Hosted By Gregory GoldaSinger Lance Bass spoke candidly to the Sacred Heart University community at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts about his role in the Grammy-nominated pop band *NSYNC, his experience coming out and his latest creative projects.
Communications professor Greg Golda introduced and interviewed Bass on stage at the Edgerton. “Are there any *NSYNC fans out there tonight?” Golda asked the crowd, generating enthusiastic applause. Referring to Bass as a “jack of all trades,” Golda informed the crowd of Bass’s many jobs: actor, singer, entertainer, philanthropist and cosmonaut. |

Producing the 2018 CT Gubernatorial Debates
In the summer of 2018 SHU was chosen as the site for the GOP and Dem debates for governor of CT. Our Amazing faculty, staff and students rolled the gear in and put on the show. We had just produced the 2018 Media Exchange hosted by Faith Daniels and the crew came back to produce the debates like a well oiled machine.
